Twenty-five members of the HDSA NYA were awarded scholarships that will help them attend the 2008 HDSA 23rd National Convention in Pittsburgh, Pa. The 2008 NYA Scholarship Application

At the 2003 HDSA National Convention in Houston, members of the National Youth Alliance voted on setting aside a portion of the donations they collect at the convention each year to establish this scholarship. The intent of the scholarship is to help current NYA members, living with Huntington’s Disease, attend a HDSA National Convention whom otherwise might not financially be able to afford attending.

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for HDSA’s 2008 - 5th Annual National Youth Alliance [NYA] Convention Scholarship.

This Fund was established for all current members of the NYA and is possible because of the support and generosity of families such as yours, in supporting the annual NYA Silent Auction and other events held at the annual HDSA National Convention.

Scholarship Availability & Application
The scholarship is open to any current or alumni member of the NYA. Any NYA member who received a full 2007 NYA scholarship is not eligible for a 2008 scholarship and must wait until 2009 before applying.

If you are not currently a member of the HDSA National Youth Alliance, please click here to fill out a NYA Application.  Once HDSA receives your NYA application, you are eligible to apply for the 2008 NYA Convention Scholarship application.

Application Deadline: March 14, 2008

Each NYA member’s application must be post-marked no later than midnight, Friday, March 14, 2008. The application, essay and all required signatures are to be mailed to:

Emailed applications are acceptable provided a hard copy of your application is received by the above deadline..

Notification of Winners

Applicants will be notified no later than April 4, 2008 if they have won a full or partial 2008 convention scholarship.

If you would like to contribute to this scholarship fund, please mail your check or money order, payable to the "HDSA NYA Convention Scholarship Fund" to the above address.
